We have several remote sites connected by T1 data circuits. Each site has a local server with a PRTG remote probe installed. I would like to measure the ping times to each location from the corporate headquarters. When I ping from a command prompt, results can be anywhere from 40msec to 400 msec, depending on how much traffic is traversing the line. However, all ping sensors in PRTG show a ping time of 0 msec. I've tried using both the DNS name and IP address. How do I get the correct values to show up?

Yes, it is using the local probe/server to ping. That's why the results are 0msec. How can I setup pings to each remote location from the main PRTG server? Does this require a custom sensor?

Then you do need to add the devices as well under the "LOCAL PROBE" (on the main server where PRTG is fully installed, not the Remote Probe hosts) and ping them from there.

do you then have the ping sensors on the devices in such a remote location underneath the remote probe (so that these are "Local" pings then within the remote location)?
