Network Adapter with PRTG as VM in VMWare?

What is the best practices for setting up network adapters under a VMWare ESXi 5 for running PRTG in a Windows 2008 R2 VM? Should multiple virtual NICs be used? Should adapter type be set to VMXNET 3?

you surely can use several virtual NICs but one should also be fine.
