How can you add custom objects to use in a map that state the status of an alarm.

Like I want to have a glass ball that turn green when nothing is wrong. Warning yellow and red errors. does anyone know how to do this? I already have three images for this not sure if multiple images are needed. GreenAlarm, YellowAlarm. RedAlarm those are the names of the images I searched in previous KB but couldn't get any further
