After the penultimate update of PRTG, I stopped assigning the hostname when integrating via templates. This was not done before, it assigned the hostname through snmp.

Exactly, before the update the creation of an object when using the template, it automatically assigned the host name, it only entered the ip and the prtg automatically assigned the name through the snmp. After the update so far, prtg no longer assigns the hostname automatically. For me it is not a problem, but it was a plus that the tool had.

Hi again,
Yes usually that happens depending on what the sensor is actually providing to PRTG or usually that is the expected scenario. Would be good to get screenshots of the configuration and also an output from our SNMP tester to see what is going on and what exactly the device is providing to PRTG to narrow it down.
If you would like to take this approach let me know and I will move this case as an internal ticket and continue working with you.

I made the comment to them, so that in a future update they can correct it. Now as I mentioned earlier, for me it is not a problem. But in the two licensed prtg that I have, I did it before the penultimate update.

Hello,
Thanks for contacting us.
I understand that you have issues with hostname not being assigned when using templates, correct? Would you be able to elaborate more on this. Is it that when using the template the SNMP sensors do not have the information you need for the hostname or what exactly?
