SNMP sensors show SNMP error 2011 after PRTG update

Issue: SNMP sensors show the Down status and SNMP error 2011. Summary:

  • SNMP sensors show the Down status
  • Sensors show error message "Could not create SNMP Session (-3000)-2011"
  • Probe.log contains entry "Error init SNMP, Windows error code 126"

Our investigation showed that this is caused by the fact that the latest updates for the Visual C++ Redistributable Package are missing on the probe system.

Solution:

  1. Update the Visual C++ Redistributable Package on the corresponding probe systems.
  2. Restart the affected probe systems afterwards.
