Hi we try to monitor VMware cloud director vm with PRTG. we try to use VMware Virtual Machine (soap) sensor but we get authentication (401) error. the credentials are OK cause we could log in to URL and we use the root account so we should not had problems with permissions. can we use another sensor for this VM or we can not monitor it with PRTG ? at a pervious thread (from 2018 https://helpdesk.paessler.com/en/support/solutions/articles/79599-vmware-product-monitoring) seems to not be able to monitor with prtg is still the same ?

Hello,
Thank you for your message.
Regarding VMware Cloud Director, I'm afraid that there is no native sensor for it. Therefore, I recommend to open a feature request for it by following our guideline here: https://helpdesk.paessler.com/en/support/solutions/articles/76000063572-how-can-i-propose-new-features-or-sensors-for-prtg.
Nevertheless, you can monitor the virtual machines via the guest OS by using standard protocols such as SNMP and WMI.
If you have questions, let us know.
Regards.
