How do I monitor two separate Internet Connections behind BGP with PRTG to tell if they go down?

We have 2 separate ISPs with their own Cisco 44xx ISR Routers that are running full BGP tables and iBGP as well as best path. We obviously want to monitor these ISPs to tell if they go down. What is the correct sensor to try and see if they go down?

Hello there,

If you have SNMP access to the Cisco routers, you can use our "BGP v4 Peer State" device template, to create sensors that monitor the state of the BGP sessions on those routers directly. For further information please take a look at this Knowledge-Base article.

If you do not have SNMP access to the routers, you can use Ping and Traceroute Hop Count Sensors to determine the state of the connections.
