Good day!

I'm trying to configure SNMP for the QNAP Health sensor in PRTG, and though it looks fine on the NAS' side, and in PRTG too, I get the "No such instance, error 223" issue.

If I use the SNMP tester I get this:

----------------------- New Test -----------------------

I also configured in the device (that is reporting live data on the NAS) the SNMP community string which matches the NAS config, the PORT matches also. I'm using SNMP v2c on both ends.

I can download a MIB file from the NAS, but not sure what to do in PRTG with it. I tried running it through the MIB importer tool and with OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.24681.2.2.11 I get all kinds of interesting info returned in the SNMP tester, but again, if I try to create a Custom SNMP sensor with that OID, it just throws the error 223 again.

All tests are run from the same server that hosts the PRTG Core server, so definitely 161 is open.

Hope this helps! looking forward to your comments!

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for your message.

Have you imported the MIB file in PRTG (snmplibs folder, under "C:\Program Files (x86)\PRTG Network Monitor\")?

If that's the case, have you used the SNMP Library sensor with the file you imported in PRTG ? If not, then I invite you to do so and check if the sensor generates a list of information you can monitor. Here is a KB article about this matter: https://helpdesk.paessler.com/en/support/solutions/articles/76000041874-how-can-i-import-my-mib-files-into-prtg

You can also use the SNMP Custom Table sensor with the OID "1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8" if the latter is a table.

Here is a video from our Youtube channel which might help here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRyZf6c0iLE
