User story
As a PRTG user, I need to be able to prioritize which sensors take a license.
Details of user story
We were forced to import a substantial qty of devices. We importing devices, ran the auto-discovery process, removed unnecessary sensors for unwanted interfaces, grouped and arranged the devices in an attempt to prioritize which devices/sensors were licenses. However, devices at the bottom of the list had sensors that were still being allocated licenses before devices at the top of the list.
A technician advised that sensors are prioritized by *creation time* and the only option is to delete the older devices/sensors and then re-add them again.
Acceptance criteria
We ultimately need some dynamic control on how sensor licenses are allocated.
- Administrative option to select exactly how to prioritize which sensors are allocated licenses:
- Hierarchy - Prioritized by order of the device list view.
- Favorite/Priority - Groups, devices, and sensors have a priority setting already.
- Creation Time - Continue to offer default method of prioritizing sensors.
