Hi,
I would like to ask if there is a a sensor or a similar one that we can use for the RAID/disk array of a server, via iLO (HPE) or iDRAC (DELL). I have searched the available sensors, but the only ones are: individual Physical disk sensor and Free disk space Multi drive sensor and Enterprise Virtual Array (Which is quite on the heavy side as it has a high performance impact on the server).
Thanks in advance.

Hi Benjamin,
We were able to confirm that the SNMP HPE Proliant System Health sensor for iLO/HPE servers has a Disk Controller sensor which indicates the following statuses: OK, Degraded and Failed.
Do we have something similar for Dell Servers? The Dell System Health Sensor does not have the Disk Controller Status as part of it. The Dell servers use iDRAC/Open Manage.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Jerry,
Thank you for the information.
If you are using Dell PowerEdge servers, then you can use the SNMP Dell PowerEdge Physical Disk sensor which provides information regarding the status of the disk (Ok, Degraded, Offline, etc.).
The different status are defined in the lookup file prtg.standardlookups.dell.diskstate_idrac.ovl located under "C:\Program Files (x86)\PRTG Network Monitor\lookups".
Let us know if you have further questions.
Kind regards.

Hello Jerry,
Much of it depends on what exactly you're looking to monitor. Are you looking to get metrics about the RAID controller itself? Are you looking for metrics about the logical disk?
Help me out here with what you're trying to accomplish.
