Is there a way of sending a message from a remote machine to the PRTG server, similar to Nagios' send_nsca? That is, a message that can change the status of specific sensor. We have machines were we cannot allow remote access such as SSH but they can initiate a message to the monitoring server. Is it possible to have a sensor that doesn't do anything, but wait for incoming messages like this?

Hello,
Thank you for your KB-post.
You can try using HTTP Push Data Advanced Sensor for this purpose. This sensor displays data from received messages that are pushed via an HTTP request to PRTG.
Best regards
