I need to monitor the concurrent connections to as ASA firewall in PRTG, and TCP connections as well.

From what I can tell, the only way to monitor connections at all would be the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.147.1.2.2.2.1.4, but it contains all connections and can't be filtered. You might be lucky using the Cisco Firewall MIB and our MIB Importer.

Thanks a lot. I found some related OIDs, However, I am not able to catch any information with them. I tried to add a custom sensor to our PRTG machine. Although other PRTG sensors are working good, these custom sensors return nothing. Do I need to define or import anything in PRTG in advance? Best regards

Hi Shohreh,

In order to drill this down further, please use our SNMP Tester. It is aimed to debug SNMP requests down to the protocol level in order to find communication and/or data problems in SNMP monitoring configurations. Here are the steps:

1) Download and run SNMP Tester (https://www.paessler.com/tools/snmptester)
2) Specify your target device settings as you would in PRTG
3) Choose "Custom OID" and put in the related OID
4) Start the scan with "Start"

What is the answer with the SNMP Tester?

You could use 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.147.1.2.2.2 table among with SNMP Custom Table sensor to monitor Cisco ASA current active connections number and maximum connections happens after last restart.
