What is the procedure to gracefully un-install /remove PRTG remote probe ? In addition, is there any procedure to be performed on the PRTG core server ?

Hello,

we usally delete remote probe on the core-server which will also automatic block the GID of RP in the "Deny GIDs" config section. After that we uninstall RP on the monitored system. This will also remove all RegKeys regarding this probe. Last action is to reboot this system.

Hi,

Roland's approach is pretty much it. Additionally, you could consider to create a dummy group on the Local Probe and move the sensors from the decommissioned Remote Probe before removing it from the PRTG device tree. Pause all required sensors indefinitely so they will not produce any load to the Local Probe. This will allow you to run reports of the "old" data in case you need it.

But it's optional and not required.
