Is there a way to setup a custom probe to produce a list of installed software?
Article Comments
If you had a script or program that would return the installed software on a given PC, I don't know why you couldn't run it as a custom sensor. I know there are some tools out there to do, but I can't think of any. You might be able to even create a sensor that looked alerted if there was unapproved software installed.

Hi guys. Does anyone know if this is now possible?
I'd like to use PRTG to enumerate installed software on Windows clients.
Many thanks.

The System Information tab provides the installed Software list according to the Windows control panel information. The information is refreshed every 24 hours and requires having Windows credentials entered in the device object's settings.

Hello,
thank you very much for your KB-Post. I'm very much afraid PRTG cannot produce such an inventory list of installed software. I'll add this to our wish list though!
best regards.
