Hello, actually am using the PRTG web version but i cant find a way to manage my MacOs (High Sierra) on my LAN with SNMP. I tried to add a new device on the PRTG monitor with the private ip (192.168.0.6) and tried the ping sensor, but nothing happens (i got no response). My Macbook is running the snmp daemon, and is using this configuration: https://wissensbank.ch/2019/02/12/configure-snmp-service-on-mac-osx-sierra/

So, could you please help me to add my LAN device in the monitor and then show my how to manage it with SNMP?

Hi there,

I'm afraid PRTG only supports SNMP only for reading device information. What exactly do you plan on managing with SNMP and your MAC?

In case even the PING Sensor isn't working, SNMP won't either as the probe isn't reaching the Macbook. First please check the general connection and if the Probe is able to reach your macbook. Please also check the firewall settings on your macbook.

Kind regards,
