Hi all

I wondered which sensor is better to monitoring space in disk. The WMI Volume or WMI Free Disk Space (Multi Disk). And when is recommended put one or other.

The WMI Free Disk Space (Multi Disk) Sensor can be used to monitor multiple drives at once. If you are just looking to monitor one single drive, you can also use the WMI Volume Sensor. Otherwise both sensors are monitoring the same aspects.

But, attending to the limitations of use of WMI sensors. Is it better to use a single sensor for devices with multiple disks or a sensor for each disk?

Hello,

There's no strict limit of how many WMI sensors can be used. However if you use too many WMI sensors this will affect PRTG's performance. Regarding the performance it's better to use one single sensor for devices with multiple disks instead of one sensor for each disk. Also in regards to licensing it would be wiser to use less sensors, if this is possible.
