Hi there,
I've got an issue with the auto-discovery function of PRTG, where I really can't find any suitable solution. The company I work at mostly uses Windows-based servers. If I run auto-detect, be it the standard way or with a template, I get no results whatsoever. Yesterday, when I set up PRTG, most of the servers seemed not to be recognized by their DNS name, even though the right name was shown in the server properties within the DNS name/IPv4 field. Because of this, only Ping and RDP were recognized for the majority of our servers. May there be a correlation between these two points? Is there any way to somehow tell PRTG the type of server the IP represents? Or is there just a lack of configuration on my side?
Thanks in advance and best regards Matthias
Hi there,
In the latest PRTG version we have a bug where no WMI Sensors are added with the Auto Discovery. The ETA for this bugfix is next thursday.
