Good morning,

Question, If access points go offline, we will receive e-mails we would like PRTG to make a sensor when an access point goes offline, and report it ready when it comes online

We receive the following emails:

Node IP 172.16.101.66 in Cluster [Allinco] Category AP State Change Event Type AP connected Severity Informational Date and Time Tue Jan 28 15:01:40 CET 2020 Activity AP [RuckusAP @ 18: 7C: 0B: 23: 8F: F0] connected because of [AP connection resumed].

Node IP 172.16.101.66 in Cluster [Allinco] Category AP State Change Event Type AP disconnected Severity Major Date and Time Tue Jan 28 15:00:40 CET 2020 Activity AP [RuckusAP @ 18: 7C: 0B: 23: 8F: F0] disconnected.

Can you explain how PRTG can ensure that a notification comes -> Accespoint offline and as soon as a connect notification comes this will be reported ready again?

Best regards Sander Kil

Hello Sander,

Thank you for your post.

Most solutions come with a controller for their access points, which can be monitored via SNMP. For instructions on how to import a MIB file into PRTG please see this article.
