I have about 30 workstations on a corporate LAN. All I won't to do is find a work station who is flooding our internet connection at various times throughout the day.

I expect that a WMI based monitor will do this. I don't want to spend months becoming a PRTG expert. Is there a "HowTo" on this subject or something similar?

I have currently installed the trial version. It looks like it has created piles of stuff that either doesn't work or isn't much use. It didn't ask me to configure a domain admin password during the setup and a scan of the help didn't point me in the right direction either.

I also don't want to go to the bother of figuring all this out if I find the product is too expensive just to produce the above result. Where can I find the pricing?

Thanks David.

Hi,

I would recommend to create the Windows Network Card sensor to monitor the desired target devices. You can find the needed information here.

Kind regards

Thanks for your reply. I had already headed down that track. I found it easier to remove all the automatically created sensors. They were already spamming me anyway. :)

I also needed to set the Administrator username and password. I just did it at the Root level.

I was having problems with one windows 8.1 machine that didn't want to play nice so I enabled SNMP on that machine and it started reporting back to the server.

So we will call this one fixed. I have some other questions but if I can't solve them I'll create a new post.
