Is there a way to add email contact for alerting without actually creating a user? Basically we want to add email contacts and have then get notify without being a user in PRTG. So when we create alert trigger on a group we can select the contact who needs to be alerting.

indeed, a notification template can have an email address entered without referring to a PRTG user, via Setting "Send Email" / "Send to Email Address".
