Hi,

We've added YouTube.com as a site to monitor using the full web sensor because we've had reports of buffering issues. Surprsingly the sensor is showing lots of brief downtime, and the odd bit of prolonged downtime, yet the site is fine when we open it in a browser.

Is this an issue with the browsing engine - I'm testing using Internet Explorer instead - or something else?

Hi,

As the Full web page sensor download the complete site it could be possible that there was an issue with the download of this site. Furthermore we don't recommend to monitor these huge sites with this sensor.

Thanks for the reply. What sort of sensor do you recommend?

I have found though that switching to the "Internet Explorer" browser engine seems to resolve it, so it seems browser engine dependent.

Hi,

If this issue is solved after you have switched to the "Internet Explorer" browser engine, then you can use this sensor further. You can also use the HTTP sensors which you can find here.
