We are using the distributed PRTG and my office have two probes installed. We have full control of the probe PCs in our office but there is NO admin right of the core server PC in our HQ. When I am trying to add SNMP sensors via the "SNMP library", the PRTG browses to the HQ core/server's SNMP library instead of the probe's. I was wondering whether there is way to browse to the probe's SNMP library where we have full control? Otherwise, each time we need to tweak our MIB files, we have to ask the HQ admins for help to add them back to the core/server PC.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, that is not possible. The probes are basically dumb and get their "commands" and instructions from the Core Server. This means that only the Core Server is able to interpret the OID-Library, which then allows the probe to scan the device via SNMP. This also has the advantage that you can manage all SNMP Libs in a central place, rather than every probe.

Best regards.
