Hello!
We starting to monitor users environment and one of important steps is user PCs Health. Since users PCs is lots of different hardware we trying to find some universal way to make this possible. One of parameters we interested in is PC temperature (chassis, CPU). For example lots of workstations has ASUS Motherboards with no SNMP MIB supports. Is there any way to find some RFC MIB (OIDS) for temperature control? Is there any way to get the data from WMI? I'm asking because there a tons of software (for example "CPUID HWMonitor") which gets the temperature data with no problem. As i understand this software got the data from some WMI classes?
Can you give an advice?
Hello Vasiliy,
Thank you for your support inquiry.
Unfortunately, there is no built-in WMI sensor in PRTG that provides information about the temperature. A possible way, however depending on your research about the WMI classes, would be using the WMI Custom Sensor. As each client might provide such information differently, we are not able to provide technical support on finding the required WMI class or WMI query though.
See our article on how to create a WMI custom sensor here
If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask.
