Since today we are noticing one of our Remote Probe Health Sensor going down/up nearly every minute. The sensor stays down for several seconds and comes up again. We rebooted the core server and the probe service to get rid of the problem. Now the sensor is running for 10 minutes without interruption. We will monitor the problem for a while.

We discovered that the probe server was overload. The system didn't have enogh RAM to run all services smoothly. Our customer doesn't want to upgrade the server so I prioritized the PRTG service. Since then we didn't notice any problems with the remote probe service.

Thanks for the update, glad everything is running smoothly now :) Interesting that giving the service a higher priority does indeed yield performance improvements. I'll keep that upon my sleeve ;)

Are you running the latest stable from yesterday already? Please go ahead and update to see if that makes a difference. Usually, for cases like this, opening a ticket via Setup | Contact Support is the better way, as we're likely to need debug logs here :)
