Our system has multiple servers acting as remote probes. Is it possible to update them manually in order to control when they will go down? It would be beneficial to pause/stop the monitoring service for that remote probe, install the update manually, and then reboot/resume PRTG monitoring. And then move onto the next remote probe.

Hi there,

The Remote Probes will automatically start to update their version once the Core Server us running a newer version. The idea is that the entire PRTG architecture is been updated in one go. Hence it's not possible to set a time period.

You can however use the Maintainer Mode to pause your devices and sensors before the update of PRTG.

Instead of timing the installations, can the remote probe installer/updates be run individually on the local machines? Or can the upgrades be installed without requiring the probes to be restarted?

It would be much easier to go one-by-one rather than lose all of my probes at nearly the exact same time.

Hi there,

after the update of your PRTG Core Server your Probes can't connect and transmit to the Core Server because of the version mismatch. That is why we update the PRTG Remote Probes automatically all at once. It is not possible to pause or disable the automatic Probe update.
