Hi, I am getting an error when trying a MIB walk on a brand new Windows 2019 server. I have configured SNMP as detailed on the support resources however I cannot add an SNMP-based sensor as error 5 appears immediately. I downloaded and tried walking the MIB using the SNMP Test Tool and this also shows error 5 on a brand new server with SNMP installed and configured. Is there some other process I need to follow in order for this to work? On every server, the walk fails at the point below which I believe relates to LAN Manager.

Hello Tom,

Please check if the vendor of your device offers any MIB files that you can import with our MIB-Importer (https://www.paessler.com/tools/mibimporter).

If so, you can monitor the target with the "SNMP Library Sensor" (https://www.paessler.com/manuals/prtg/snmp_library_sensor.htm).

Here's a Knowledge Base Article that describes the setup of "SNMP Library Sensors": https://helpdesk.paessler.com/en/support/solutions/articles/76000041743 and there's also a video that shows how to: https://www.paessler.com/support/videos/prtg-advanced/snmp-custom-and-library-sensor

If the issue persists please open a case with us along with the sensor configuration at support@paessler.com

We will be more than happy to assist you there.

Regards
