Is there a known way to automate renewing API keys in PRTG?

We are using several REST API calls to monitor some cloud systems. These require an API key. The API key in question remains valid until it is no longer used. If it is not used in 30 mins, the API key expires.

The issue is that when we update our PRTG core the API key is not used and expires, after which we have to go trough a lot of effort to manually enter a new API key in our sensors. After that it works again.

Hello Freek,

Thanks for reaching out to us! You could think of a second installation of PRTG (can be a freeware though) to just monitor such pages using API keys to automatically refresh the keys.

Next to this I cannot think of another way to avoid the expiration as the PRTG service are down during maintenance and therefore cannot trigger automatic actions.

By writing that, also scheduled Windows Tasks could be an option which renew the keys.
