Hello,
the PRTG packet sniffer sensor only works on network adapters used in a Windows computer. An option would be to setup a remote probe with two NICs and use the mirror port of the switch (if it has one) to connect to said probe on one NIC, while using the other to connect the probe to the core server.
In case your switch supports Netflow, it would be easier to setup Flow and use a Flow sensor.
