We're trying to use the network share sensor to monitor the growth of a Share. Unfortunately this share is several TB in size and the sensor times out even when set to the max. Using the folder sensor results in the same. Are there any ways to increase the max timeout, or does anyone know of a better way to leverage PRTG to track the historical growth of this share?

Thanks!

What is the make and model of this network share? And what sensor are you using? I assume you are using a custom SNMP sensor or are you using a native sensor in PRTG? Depending on what sensor it is we can look at what options you have.

It's just a standard share hosted on a Windows box. We've tried both the WMI Share and Network Share (BETA) sensors that are native to PRTG and they both time out.

We recommend opening a support ticket and send us more details about your windows machine that is hosting this share, perhaps we can test with a custom WMI query using out WMI tester to check if the device is taking too long to reply that query for that share. You can submit the ticket at support@paessler.com
