Hello Olaf,

First thing that I have in mind would be a restart of both, PRTG Probe that has the affected sensor and the monitored machine. Based on your description, I would assume that the WMI interface of the target/updated device is affected and does not properly respond to the WMI queries sent out by PRTG.

Does the restart somewhat affect the sensor?

In this case it would be best, if you reach out to us via our Helpdesk Portal. Please raise a ticket through the portal to have some of us actually checking your log files and your current sensor configuration.
