Custom notification plugins

Hi,

is there a way to write your own notification plugin with UI for the parameters? Or is the only way to connect with other services, than the already builtin options to use the "Execute Program" or "Execute HTTP Action"?

I'm afraid it's only possible using the already builtin Notification Methods.
