Hi all,

is possible to divide PRTG Server in 2 parts: -Back-end installed in DMZ; -Front-end accessible by web Gui

Hello,

If you mean by back end the part which is querying the devices and by front end the server that displays the monitoring data, then yes this is possible for a long time, just with a bit different naming.

The Part which queries the devices is called a Probe, you can install Remote Probes in the DMZ and let it report back to the core server which would be in an internal network.

You can read about Probes in our manual here: Remote Probes and Multiple Probes

I'm quite sure the question is if it is possible to separate the probe (the part which is querying the devices) and the part serving the web interface. So that the probe that has access to all networks is not exposed to the internet via http.

Is such a separation possible? Or maybe someone can somehow explain why we don't have to worry about.

Hello,

this is exactly what the Remote Probe is for, in the Link I provided there is a diagram showing the scenario you explained.

The Remote Probe will query all the devices you have set it up for in the DMZ and will report the data back to the Core Server using one single connection.
