I just added the WSUS Statistics sensor, and it starts and stays in an error state, stating "Unable to connect to remote server." I have tried adding this sensor both on the WSUS server itself, and the local probe (installed the WSUS console on it, as suggested on another page), with no change. I cannot seem to find much information on how to fix/dial-in this sensor.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can you check the following?

  • This sensor requires the Microsoft WSUS 3.0 Administration Console on the probe system. Make sure you installed the WSUS Admin Console on the probe server that is polling the WSUS Statistics.
  • This sensor requires Microsoft .NET 4.7.2 or later on the probe system. If the sensor shows the error PE087, additionally install .NET 3.5 on the probe system.
