When i get a notification mail and click on alert confirmed, the page opens PRTG with the ip instead of the dns name, is there a way to change this?

Yes, this can be changed. Please head to "Setup > System Administration > User Interface" and make sure the correct DNS name is configured in the "PRTG Web Interface" section.
