my top connections and top talkers are working on PRTG, but I am only seeing "other" listed in the top protocols on PRTG. any suggestions? I am using Netflow 5 sensor and set that on the cisco too. and locally on the cisco 1941 router I am able to see protocols listed if I type 'ip show cache flow"

I recreated the netflow sensor using the one that doesnt say 'custom' and it worked I now have a list of protocols showing up. so this issue was specifically for the Netflow V5 (Custom) sensor which makes me wonder if you are supposed to add your own protocol info in for that one?

Exactly, the Custom Flow/Sniffer - Sensors allow fully own protocol or traffic definitions (from/to certain IP), etc.. Please see: How do the channel definitions for custom Packet Sniffing or flow (NetFlow/sFlow) sensors work?
