When clustering, on the cluster master you have two probes, the local probe and the cluster probe.

When making another instance of PRTG a failover node, you loose the local probe on that device, and inherit the cluster probe (and associated sensors) from the cluster master.

Is it possible to add a local probe to a failover node as well (i.e. that's not part of the cluster) like you can on the master, and if so, how?

Hi,

This is not possible, the Fail Over Node will just monitor objects below the Cluster Probe. If you want to setup another independent Probe, you will need to install an additional Remote Probe on another server in the network of the Fail Over Node.
