We are using Managed Service account for SQL reporting services. I can't get my HTTP sensors to monitor them because they require a password in the password field of the sensor. You can't leave it blank. I was told I could create a custom sensor, but I am not sure how to go about this. I've looked at some of the custom sensors that have already been created, but I don't see what I'm looking for.

I'm either looking for a custom sensor that already does this, or some instruction on how to create one on my own. I tried looking for the information myself, but I couldn't find a set of clear instructions.

Thank you for the KB-Post. May I ask, which exact HTTP Sensor did you use in PRTG? The basic HTTP Sensor doesn't require a password and for example for the HTTP Advanced Sensor it should be optional.
Do you want to acquire metrics from the target service? Or just monitor its availability via HTTP?

I'm using the HTTP advanced so I can look for a Keyword on the page. This lets me know the page is available. Since it's SQL Server Reporting Services, you are required to present a username and password. Since we are using managed service accounts, I should be able to pass just the service account name, with no password.

The HTTP advanced sensor doesn't allow me to leave the password field blank. It's a required field

Thank you for the response. Would the target service just disregard the password? Then you could enter anything into the settings of the HTTP Advanced Sensor. Or as an alternative, please create an account for the sensor, with an exception of having a password (as compared to the regular account).
