I'm having the same issue this poster was having (https://helpdesk.paessler.com/en/support/solutions/articles/70825-error-connecting-cisco-switch-sf300-24-with-prtg). When trying to add snmp traffic sensor to a Cisco SF300-24 switch, I get the following error:
"Sensor does not get response from device. SNMP credentials are wrong or device does not support the required uptime OID (1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0) for traffic sensors. This OID is mandatory by the SNMP RFC. Check SNMP access rights or contact device vendor. (code: PE244)"
The PRTG SNMP Tester gives me these results when running a test on that OID:
----------------------- New Test ----------------------- Paessler SNMP Tester 5.2.3 Computername: xxxxx 2017-10-20 11:07:08 (2 ms) : Device: xxxxx 2017-10-20 11:07:08 (2 ms) : SNMP V2c 2017-10-20 11:07:08 (3 ms) : Custom OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0 2017-10-20 11:07:08 (30 ms) : SNMP Datatype: ASN_TIMETICKS 2017-10-20 11:07:08 (32 ms) : ------- 2017-10-20 11:07:08 (33 ms) : Value: 42843904 2017-10-20 11:07:08 (34 ms) : Done
The test appears to work, however, the sensor will not add. SNMP RMON does not work either, but I don't get an error, it just does not show any ports to add.

Hi Felix,
Forgot to check this reply
Adding the SNMP Uptime sensor shows this message after it's added and refreshed: No response (check: firewalls, routing, snmp settings of device, IPs, SNMP version, community, passwords etc) (SNMP error # -2003)
That seems like a basic snmp connection issue, though I have been able to use SNMP on this device for another monitoring application I'm using (basic info from Spiceworks Desktop). I'm also confused as to why the SNMP tester is working though

Hello Mike,
Did you start the SNMP Tester from the very same device where the (remote-) probe is installed? If not, start the tester on this host. What results do you get?
If this works as well, did you already try to enter the SNMP community string directly on the settings page of the device in PRTG? This will preclude a wrong inheritance of the credentials.
Best regards, Felix

Hi Felix,
Yes, I ran SNMP Tester from the server running PRTG.
I forgot to clarify, yes, I entered SNMP creds directly in the settings for the device I'm trying to setup the sensors on. They are not inherited from anything.

Hi Mike,
As we'll require additional log files, I just contacted you via email.
Best regards, Felix

Hi Mike,
Could you add one SNMP sensor to that device, e.g. the SNMP Uptime sensor? If not, click on the parent device and enter the setting to directly enter the community name below the Credentials for SNMP devices option. Does it work afterwards?
Best, Felix
