Good afternoon ALL! Hope all is well.

We are in the process of purchasing PRTG and we are currently setting it up in our environment.

We have noticed one particular sensor needs to have a Device Tool to run in case the sensor fails.

Is there a way to associate a sensor status to trigger such Device Tool? It's an FTP / Filezilla service that stops responding, and if we stop/restart the service, it "clears". (It is a known bug of Filezilla running under Windows Server 2012. Yes, we are aware this software is NOT compatible with this particular OS, but re-starting the service "works"...

cheers, Ed

Hi Ed,

You could try the WMI Service Sensor, which has an option to restart a service that doesn't respond anymore. Although, given that "not responding" is copious, it may not work for your use case.

In order to trigger a script or application once a sensor fails, please use the Execute Program notification type and add it to the sensor itself. Further details can be found here.

Good morning! Hope all is well! Awesome, thank you for the fast response. We are now able to monitor & re-start the service via Execute Program Notification. It works perfectly. Danke!
