PRTG Folder Monitor stopped triggering

We have had a folder monitor setup for a while now - it was working fine then all of a sudden in one of the recent versions it stopped alerting us of changes. It doesn't seem to be triggering a change event - the data (overview and live data) shows the data correctly. It shows the correct age of the latest file in the folder and folder size and number of files. The file share is on a windows server and PRTG is setup to monitor subfolders. Any ideas?
