I've just done an initial setup and have imported all my Windows Servers into PRTG. Some are looking great, some are only showing Ping or Ping+RDP. I've noticed that the ones that look like everything is setup properly have automatically had their icons changed to a Windows Icon.

All I've done is so far is make sure the firewall (both our main one and the Windows firewall) is disabled for this and made sure the account I'm using as administrator access on the VMs.

What are the next steps? Does the fact that the icon has changed to a Windows Icon mean that it's using WMI or just that it can talk and query that it's a Windows device. I'm just trying to nail down where my issue is as half look to be working great and half are only showing 1 or 2 sensors.

This discovery can to some extent determine which type of device it might based on the ping response or if WMI is available etc.

If you end up with Windows machines for example that only have Ping and RDP sensors, more sensors could not be created. One reason might be that the configured Windows credentials are not valid for the device, same would be the case with SNMP sensors when the SNMP settings in PRTG do not match what's configured in the device. This would become evident when you would try to add a WMI sensor for example manually to the host in question and see what happens then. It will most likely fail, if not, we need to investigate further.
