I have a spike filter enabled on several sensors, in the instance where i use it on "Oldest File" i do not get an error when a file is older than the Spike Filter Max. Value.

I have the filter set max value 1 day, but when a file of a month old is added it does not trigger the alarm. I use the spike filter so the graphic indicator isn't completely green (or completely red). But i do want it the alarm to go off when it goes beyond the reach of the Spike filter.

So basically i would like PRTG to just disregard the values when normalizing for graphical output, but i do want the values to trigger alarms. Is this in any way possible?

Thanks!

Hello there,

As soon as the spike filter becomes effective, the read value will be disregarded, thus will also not be processed for limits to switch the sensor's state. A possible workaround could be to have two versions of the same sensor. One with the spike filter enabled, another one without the spike filter, but with limits configured to set it to down state when the file is older than the defined value.

Kind regards,

Erhard
