When attempting to create HP Proliant Physical disk sensor I receive a no disk found error: PE 188

I have used the SNMP Test tool with a walk of: 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.5 and 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.5 however it merely just states:

----------------------- New Test -----------------------
Paessler SNMP Tester 5.2.3 Computername: SERVER1 Interface: 10.0.0.250
6/14/2017 2:22:15 PM (17 ms) : Device: 10.0.0.20
6/14/2017 2:22:15 PM (28 ms) : SNMP V2c
6/14/2017 2:22:15 PM (37 ms) : Walk  1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.5

and never progresses, on both walks.

I have used a simple request, like read uptime to verify connectivity of SNMP:

----------------------- New Test -----------------------
Paessler SNMP Tester 5.2.3 Computername: SERVER1 Interface: 10.0.0.250
6/14/2017 2:29:58 PM (4 ms) : Device: 10.0.0.20
6/14/2017 2:29:58 PM (6 ms) : SNMP V2c
6/14/2017 2:29:58 PM (7 ms) : Uptime
6/14/2017 2:29:58 PM (12 ms) : SNMP Datatype: ASN_TIMETICKS
6/14/2017 2:29:58 PM (14 ms) : -------
6/14/2017 2:29:58 PM (18 ms) : DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = 319914 ( 53 minutes 19 seconds )
6/14/2017 2:29:58 PM (22 ms) : SNMP Datatype: ASN_TIMETICKS
6/14/2017 2:29:58 PM (25 ms) : HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSystemUptime.0 = 27362629 ( 3 days 4 hours 0 minutes )
6/14/2017 2:29:58 PM (27 ms) : Done

I have installed new version of HP Proliant management suite and have verified from the HP software that there is a raid and physical disks.

Hello there,

SNMP generally is working on the target, but for some reason there's nothing coming back for the physical disk OIDs. This can have several reasons, e.g. we've seen this with Server 2016 recently where certain drivers had to be installed manually (cp028045 HP ProLiant Smart Array SAS/SATA Controller Driver for Windows Server 2012 & cp030137 HP ProLiant Smart Array SAS/SATA Event Notification Service for Windows Server Editions). I would recommend taking this to HP, showing them the walk result that nothing's being reported back on OIDs starting with 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.5. They should be able to tell you what's missing. Maybe you could also post here what the solution finally was then.

Thank you & kind regards,

Erhard
