We are looking at integrating AD auth into our PRTG instance, however it sits on a different domain to our users albeit in the same forest. Would this still work or is it strict on it being on the same domain?

Secondly, does enabling AD auth disable the local account or do they both stay in place?

Hi there,

Only users from the same domain as the PRTG server will work. Cross-Domain authentication doesn't work, even when they're in the same forest. Even with AD enabled, native PRTG users will still be able to login, as the systems can coexist.

Thanks for the info.

Knowing that my local account would be left in place I tried AD Auth to our other domain anyway, and it works fine. Got everyone logging in with read-only.
