Hi there
I created a Device (SUSE Linux Enterprise with Oracle installed) with some Standard Sensors (Ping, Memory, SSH Disk, SSH Load) and 17 Oracle SQL V2 Sensors.
Then I created a Device-Template from this Device.
When I start an Auto-Discovery on two other Devices (by Hostname) based on this Template, I got only the Standard-Sensors (Ping, Memory, SSH Disk, SSH Load) but none of the SQL-Sensors.
Why are these SQL-Sensors not Discovered? I checked the Template-File and all these Sensors are there. Would be hard work to Clone every Single Sensor from the Original Device to the new created Devices.
I realized that Cloning the complete Device to a new One is working, but then I need to do that for all other Devices I need, and there are not only these 2 Devices. I need about 60 similar Devices, that's why I thought about using a Template.
Devices are the exactely the same OS. PRTG Version is 17.1.30.1618
Thanks in advance and regards Marcel

Hi Dariusz
Thanks for your reply.
DB-Credentials are all the same inherited from Top Level. Checked for the Log-File but there is no System Log-File from today or yesterday when I started testing with Templates.
Thanks and regards

Hi Marcel,
There should be a "Auto Discovery Debug Log.log" file on either the PRTG Core Server or the Remote Probes system.

Hi Dariusz Found the Log-File on the Core-Server. I only checked the Probe before and there was no Log-File.
There are a few Port-Errors on these 2 Autodiscovered Devices:

As said, both of them are Virtual Suse Linux Enterprise 12 with Oracle 12.1 installed.
If it was a Port-Problem then why is it working on the Device I created the Template? If needed I can send you the Template File?

Hi Marcel,
It would be great if you could share the device template.
An additional question, did you use the webinterface or the Enterprise Console?

Hi Dariusz
I used the Webinterface.
The Template-Content is around 12'000 Lines! Is there a possibility to send it by Mail instead of publishing here?

Hello Marcel, thank you for your reply.
Sure thing. You can mail it to support@paessler.com - Make sure to make "Device Template not working fine (Case PAEXXXXXXX)" the subject of your E-mail.
Best Regards,

Hi Marcel,
Please make sure that the Database Credentials are correctly entered for all devices, better in the parent group settings. If this is checked, then please check the Auto Discovery Log under ""C:\ProgramData\Paessler\PRTG Network Monitor\Logs (System)\".
