What does the "downtime" channel on the cisco asa vpn sensor represent? What generates an error condition? In short ... what are ways to trigger a "down" condition on a vpn connection keeping in mind we have some connections that can go to sleep because of inactivity?
Thanks so very much

Is there a workaround so we can distinguish between tunnel waiting for traffic and tunnel down ?

I'm very much afraid the Cisco ASA VPN Sensor in PRTG does not check for a OID differing between waiting for traffic and tunnel down. It's likely though, that there is an OID describing this very state. Please check with Cisco directly.

Hello,
the downtime channel is a part of each sensor (type). I'm afraid for the sensor it's a down/error if the VPN is not up / online. This of course could be the case if the connection is on "standby", unfortunately, there is no difference there on the OIDs, which the sensor reads, if it's a proper down or not. So we can only let the sensor alarm in all cases.
best regards.
