Hi,
We want working on integrating a simple alarm gauge using a PRTG device map with every device we have in our network inventory software Netbox. While we can easily do this for a single device, we don't want to create a new map for every device as every device will display the same (but device specific) alarm gauge.
Is there a way to create a 'default map template' for our devices that we can use for our devices by only changing the device id in the map url.
eg;
- device 1: id=0001 - device 2: id=0002 - device 3: id=0003
using the same 'default map template' the deviceid (or similar) would specify what device the map is showing;
- https://PRTG.int/mapshow.htm?id=12345&deviceid=0001
- https://PRTG.int/mapshow.htm?id=12345&deviceid=0002
- https://PRTG.int/mapshow.htm?id=12345&deviceid=0003
All the devices will have a ping sensor and we want to show a simple alarm gauge inside our inventory software next to the device. I feel there is a faster & smarter way to do it than creating a map view for every single device.
Is this functionality available?
Thanks in advance,
Rik
Hello,
Thank you very much for your KB-Post. I'm very much afraid this is not possible. Bear in mind, maps are individual objects in PRTGs data tree as well. So there have to be distinct relations to the objects they are displaying. They cannot work with a parameter to display different devices with each call. Sorry.
best regards
