New device discovery notification

I want to get an alert when a new device is auto-discovered. The KB article is from 2010 and doesnt apply to my 16.4.27.6720 version. How can I get an alert (email) when a new device is discovered and added?

Dear tvc15,

the KB-article by my colleague Daniel from July 2010 is still valid.

There is currently no other option to get a notification if the auto-discovery adds a new device, I´m afraid.
