Hi All,
We have a environment where our core server sits in a DMZ with many remote probe on different networks.
We have been informed that we need to change the IP address of the core server so that it will sit in a different network. Is there a procedure we should follow to make the necessary networking changes so that there is no or near no outage time and not killing the remote probes in the process.
All advice is appreciated.
Regards
Jason

Hi Jason,
The information about which interfaces/IPs currently are used for webinterface and probe connections, can be configured in PRTG Administration Tool, tabs "Web Server" and "Core Server". If those IPs change, you would at least need to restart PRTG's services so that the changes reflect in PRTG.
Regarding the remote probes it depends which IP is configured for connecting to the PRTG server. If this IP will be no longer valid, you would need to change it manually on every probe (also in PRTG Administration Tool found on every remote probe).
This thread might also be useful.
Kind regards,
Erhard
