Hi PRTG support team,
we created several sensors with the folowing kb article:
The sensors work send a SOAP request every five minutes and they work fine. But several times a day they report the error:
Cannot open file "C:\Windows\system32\20160906122216007.log". Der Prozess kann nicht auf die Datei zugreifen, da sie von einem anderen Prozess verwendet wird |
The named file is not the sensor created response file and i dont find these file at the PRTG server. Can anybody answer why PRTG has issues with a log file in C:\Windows\system32 and if this file is needed by PRTG, is it possible to change the target path?
thanks a lot
Peter

Hello Luciano,
thanks für reply.
the installed PRTG version is: 16.2.24.3792 (we will update this version within maintanance at 18.09.2016)
The total amount of http-advanced sensors is 31, 21 of them store results to disk. I write back here after we update the version.
Thanks Peter

Hello Mr. Krahe,
thank you for your KB-Post.
Please allow me to ask, which precise version of PRTG are you running? You can check this within PRTG under Setup > PRTG Status.
This is most likely caused by having a large amount of HTTP Advanced sensors configured to "Store latest HTML Result", this path is used as an intermediate path before saving the "final" output to the appropriate PRTG Folder.
Updating to the latest PRTG version greatly reduces the likelihood of receiving this message, but you should still only enable the "Store HTML Result" temporarily on individual sensors troubleshooting.
Best Regards,
